Bundesliga defender Jonathan Tah has stated to his current club, Bayer Leverkusen, that he will not renew his contract beyond June 30th, 2023.
Because of this, two top European clubs, Bayern Munich and Barcelona, have begun contract talks with the player.
Tah would fill a major need for both teams
Tah would fulfill a center back need for both teams.
Bayern Munich is looking to replace Niklas Süle, who signed a free transfer deal with Borussia Dortmund.
Barcelona is looking to replace Clement Lenglet, who is expected to leave the team this summer.
Tah has plenty of experience at a high level
Tah has 15 caps for the German national team.
He has also played in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.
Tah has appeared in 226 career matches across all competitions and has scored 18 goals.
Contract details may prove difficult
Agreeing on a contract may prove difficult.
Bayern Munich is reportedly offering Tah a four-year deal worth €12 million per year.
Barcelona is reportedly offering Tah a five-year deal worth €10 million per year.
